2-step authentication is an extra layer of security for your administrator account.
If you are logging in on a new device for the first time, you also need to enter a six-digit one-time code from an authenticator app on a phone or tablet.
It's similar to having a one-time passcode sent to a phone. The advantage of an authenticator app is that you don't need to wait for a text message to come through. The authenticator app doesn't even need to be connected to the internet.
You can use either the Google Authenticator app from the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store.
Alterntatively, you can download the Authy app.
