Trowse Manor Rooms is a characterful building with a history as a communal village space since it was provided by the Colman family as part of the 'model village' ethos, which aimed to look after Colman factory workers 'from cradle to grave' including education, healthcare and leisure. The building is managed by the Manor Rooms Management Committee, a registered charity, on behalf of the village.
As a village amenity, it is available to hire on a regular or one-off event basis. Villagers get preferential rates and it is popular for yoga, Pilates, children's groups and parties, craft fairs and much more.
There is a large main room with a small kitchen attached, a small enclosed courtyard, a lobby and cloakroom, an ante-room with a little storage, toilets and a large outdoor area (the former bowling green). The Manor Rooms also accommodates the Parish Council Office and meetings. The plans are to increase the use of both the building and also the green space to the rear of the building.
Access: There are three steps from the street into the lobby. There is also flat disabled/wheelchair access to the main hall by taking the path and ramp at the side and back of the building with a single door from the courtyard space.
