The Swan Community Centre (known locally as The Swan Centre) was built by Ashford Borough Council in the late 1980s for the benefit of the people of South Willesborough and Newtown in Ashford, Kent. The Centre is leased to and run by a registered charity; the South Willesborough and Newtown Community Association (registered charity no. 801901).
The Centre consists of a main hall with stage area and PA system, small rear garden, committee room (ideal for small meetings), and fully equipped kitchen. We also have a large private car park. The Swan Centre is a perfect venue for parties, wedding receptions, baby showers, clubs & society activities, meetings and much more.
We also provide a range of community activities throughout the year such as family events, a children's Christmas party, licensed party events, quiz nights and craft fairs. These are provided at low-cost for our local community and help to raise funds towards maintenance and improvements at the Centre.
** Please note that we will be closed between 20th April and 6th May 2026 for redecoration of the main hall **
The main hall charge is £21 per hour (£18 per hour for local SWAN residents). The Committee room is available for £12 per hour.

The Committee Room is suitable for smaller meetings, with a maximum occupancy of 8 people seated at tables.
Concessionary hire rates are available for residents of South Willesborough and Newtown as we encourage the use of the Centre by local people. If you are hiring as a registered charity or community group, or holding an event to raise funds, concessions may apply. Please speak to the Bookings Officer to find out if you are eligible.
