Buchlyvie Village Hall: Online Booking

About Buchlyvie Village Hall

Welcome to Buchlyvie Village Hall.
On 1st February 1883 a public meeting, chaired by the Rev John McDonald, minister of the South Church on Station Road, agreed unanimously to the construction of a new meeting place in the village. A fifteen strong committee was set up and it was subsequently agreed that a village hall should be built, paid for by public conscription.
The largest contribution of the necessary money came from James Harvie whom the hall bell tower is named after.
The final cost of the building came to £1234, 12 shillings and one pence. One year later on the 22nd May 1884 the foundation stone was laid. The build took six months and the hall was officially opened on November 7th of that year.

The hall was extended after the original build and as well as the main hall there is a meeting room, seats around 12 max, and toilets including a disabled access toilet with baby changing facilities.

The hall is licensed  for:

  • 120 people,  to meet fire regulations.

We have tables and chairs available to use and a fully equipped kitchen with 2 x cookers, microwave, fridge freezer, kettles and hot water urns.
