The Community Room can be hired along with the Main Hall and used in conjunction with it.
The premises have been completely refurbished and decorated, with new floors though out, new toilets and blinds to the windows and a patio door exiting into the garden area.
Scroll down to the bottom of this page to see pictures of the facilities we offer. There is a floor plan in the documents section.
The hall is licensed for:
It offers 151sqm of floor plus a stage area and most of the floor area is a superb sprung maple dance floor. The stage area adds another 9.7m x 2.4m and has full width stage curtains. Floor plan
In the past we have hosted many functions including weddings, seminars, film evenings, auctions, dances, theatrical productions and corporate events. The ranges of options open to you are only really limited by your imagination and we will offer any assistance that we can. Here is a short video of the Queen's Jubilee party at Bramshaw Village Hall in June 2022.
Available for use in the hall are 24 large tables measuring 1.5m x 0.6m (5ft x 2ft) and 10 smaller tables 0.91m x 0.6m (3ft x 2ft) along with 200 chairs. Table and chairs can be easily moved with the table and chair trolleys provided. A further 6 large tables can be made available on request. There are also some small child size tables and chairs.
There are newly installed patio doors allowing access to the garden area and patio, where gazebos or a marquee could be erected.
If you would like to ‘dress’ the hall or erect a marquee, we do have a preferred installer for any dressing of the hall or marquees needed.
A refundable security deposit of £100 for parties and large meetings and £250 for weddings is mandatory for one-off hall hires to cover damage, loss and breakages of hall and equipment. Should the Hirer not comply with the terms and conditions of hire or the Hall not be left clean and tidy, equipment not be put away or the Management Committee incur expenditure or loss as a direct consequence of the hire then the deposit shall be retained at the discretion of the Management Committee. Should a deposit not be requested in advance, e.g. for regular users, or the mandatory deposit amount not be sufficient recompense for any damage or loss caused during a hire period, the Management Committee reserves the right to make an additional charge in arrears to cover the cost of any loss or damage.
Please note that mains power is automatically cut to the hall if the sound level exceeds this level and requires a Trustee key holder to reinstate the power. It may not be possible for a Trustee to attend immediately so you are advised not to exceed the decibel limit.
The premises have a PRS licence for playing music.
We have a new kitchen which measures approximately 3.6m x 4.5m (12ft x 15ft). It has a state of the art six hob cooker, hot water dispenser, commercial dishwasher, fridge freezer and warming cupboard. Crockery and cutlery are provided for small meetings and a further 120 place settings are available to hire for larger functions. There is a serving hatch through to the main hall. Our facilities are fully accessible by wheelchair, with level access from the car park.
Immediately outside the front and two sides of the complex there is a level, tarmac surfaced car park for up to 100 cars which is monitored by CCTV. Entry to the car park is via a cattle grid to keep out the local New Forest Ponies. However, should you need to avoid this, there is a large gate to the side of the cattle grid.
The community room is 9.1m x 4.5m (30ft x 15ft, 450sq ft). It is a self-contained part of our complex having its own entrance, toilets, WiFi access, a vinyl floor and the facility to make light refreshments. It is best suited for medium sized meetings, small seminars and as a training venue. This room is licensed for up to 30 people and has 6 large tables, 2 smaller half round tables and 30 chairs. To the rear of the complex there is a fenced garden and patio area with some picnic tables. This can be used in conjunction with either the main hall or the community room and has proved a useful expansion area in good weather. It is large enough to accommodate a marquee annexed to main hall for larger events. There are patio doors to the main hall as well as small exit doors which allow access to the garden from the main hall.
We try to lessen the hall's impact on the environment and use background heating provided by a ground source heat pump. We also have solar panels on the roof to supply electricity for the hall’s use and to supply back to the national grid.
For more information on on our venue, please click on the 'How to Book' and 'Documentation' tabs. You can make a provisional booking from the calendar page. A history of the hall is available for download in the documents section.
As we approach the centenary of the Hall (for more details read our history document) and the 50th anniversary of the building of the ‘new’ hall, this precious community resource needs your help to survive into it's second centenary. Covid lock down and social exclusion means the hall has received no income from bookings for more than a year. A flood in August 2020 has required extensive reparations and updates to be made to the fabric of the building which should be completed by end of December 2021.
We are raising funds to replace two failing flat roofs and to contribute towards the costs of re-opening the hall as a vibrant centre for the local community in the Autumn. Here are several ways to help us raise funds:
