About Appleby Public Hall

Appleby Public Hall is located in the centre of Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria. It has two rooms, the Main Hall and the Supper Room, which can be hired separately or together. There is a free WiFi connection in both rooms. The Hall makes for a perfect conference location, as it has good acoustics and lots of room for tables and seating.

We also have a Facebook page, which can be used to help publicise your booking, or to post pictures of it afterwards. If you have any promotional material you would like sharing, please contact admin@applebytown.gov.uk. There is space for a banner at the top of the Market Arcade, but please check with the Administrator prior to putting one up, as there may be other bookings before you that require a banner up as well.

MAIN HALL

• The Main Hall is one of the largest venues in the Eden Valley with a seating capacity of 200.
• It can accommodate dancing, with a floor area of 11m x 15m. There is also a large stage with stage spotlights, and two large dressing rooms behind.
• The Main Hall benefits from good acoustic qualities and is especially valued as a theatre and music performance venue.
• The large foyer serves as a bar area, with access to a fully fitted and equipped kitchen.
• The Main Hall is used to host a variety of events; including theatre productions, concerts, cinema, blood donation sessions, dance classes, and markets.
• There is AV equipment, including a high quality screen and projector, owned by the local Remote Cinema. If you would like to hire this equipment as part of your booking, please make a note on your booking form
• We have a portable PA system which includes a large speaker and two wireless microphones which is available to hire for £10 per booking. Please add a note onto your booking if this is something you would like.
• There is gents and ladies toilets behind the stage.

SUPPER ROOM

• The Supper Room has a capacity of 60 and provides a pleasant environment for the many clubs and groups who meet there on a regular basis.
• The Supper Room is the venue for Saturday morning charity coffee mornings and other smaller events and meetings.
• The Supper Room has access to a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, as well as gents and ladies toilets.
• There is AV equipment, including a screen, projector and speakers, which can be requested as part of your booking for £30 per use. If you wish to use the equipment regularly throughout the year, a reduced fee can be arranged.
• We have a portable PA system which includes a large speaker and two wireless microphones which is available to hire for £10 per booking. Please add a note onto your booking if this is something you would like.

ACCESSIBILITY

• Our hall has recently had a disabled toilet installed in the foyer, which includes a baby changing unit. This has been installed to a very high standard and meets all accessibility guidelines.
• Both the Main Hall and the Supper Room are fitted with an Induction Loop so all our visitors can enjoy the events and lectures.
• There is a lift from the ground floor to the Supper Room, so all can enjoy our regular art groups, exercise classes, talks and more!
