About Croston Old School

Our historic Grade II listed building stands in the heart of Croston village and is available to hire for a wide range of events, including:

• Weddings
• Christenings
• Concerts & live music
• Exhibitions
• Corporate away days & meetings
• Parties & private celebrations

We are also home to many local voluntary and community groups and host regular live music nights, quiz nights, pop-up cafés and more throughout the year. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the latest news and events.

Our spaces include: 

1. The North Hall

A spacious room with high ceilings, ideal for larger events and parties for up to 80 people.Included in the hire:

• 80 chairs and 10 large tables
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Accessible to people with disabilities
• Wireless internet access
• Private courtyard overlooking the River Yarrow

A licensed bar is located in the room directly next to the North Hall and is available on request. 

Available at extra charge: PA system, projector & screen, large-screen television.

2. The South Hall

A bright, high-ceiling room perfect for medium-sized events for up to 30 people.

Included in the hire:

• 30 chairs and 6 large tables
• Fully equipped kitchen
• Accessible to people with disabilities
• Wireless internet access
• Private courtyard overlooking the River Yarrow

Available at extra charge: PA system, projector & screen, large-screen television.

3. The Yarrow Room

The Yarrow room is located on the first floor (accessed by stairs only). This is ideal for smaller meetings and boardroom-style events for up to 14 delegates.

Prices

Our pricing varies depending on the type of event and your specific requirements. Here are some example rates to give you an idea of our charges:

• Adult party with bar (4 hours) — £200
• Children’s party (3 hours) — £60
• Art class, workshop or exercise class — £17.50 per hour
• Corporate away day  (9 am -5 pm) — £150
• Charity or village community group — £15.00 per hour

Children's Parties

Our venue welcomes parties for children aged 1-11. However, we are unable to host 18th or 21st birthday parties, or events primarily attended by teenagers. This policy helps us maintain the right environment for all the people who hire the building. 

Food & Drink

• Outside catering is welcome. We can provide a list of recommended caterers who have worked with us before.
• A licensed bar (in the North Hall) is available on request for alcoholic drinks.

Getting here

• ROAD: Croston Old School is easily accessible from the M6, making it convenient for people coming from across the North West.
• TRAIN: Croston station is a 10-minute walk away with regular services to Preston, Rufford, Burscough and Ormskirk (with connections to Liverpool). 
• BUS: Services connect Croston with Southport, Leyland, Eccleston and Chorley.
• TAXIS: Taxis in Croston are readily available, primarily serviced by local private hire firms and Uber also serves the village.
