About United Church, Bradford on Avon

Welcome to our church which was built in 1740 and is a Grade 2 listed building.  The church hall was added at a later date and is a useful space for meetings and functions, and can also be hired for parties. For instance, we use it for our Church lunch every month, catering for up  to 50 people. Between the sanctuary and the hall is a well equipped kitchen and toilets, separate male and female, (although the baby changing facilities are in the male toilet, which also has disabled access).  There is an additional unisex toilet in the church vestibule at the back of the sanctuary.

Our church is conveniently situated near Bradford on Avon station and, in terms of hiring, is near the station car park, where it is usually fairly easy to park at a reasonable rate up until 6pm.  After 6pm parking is free. The church and church hall are accessed up quite a steep path which has a grab rail to one side.  For step-free access there is a back door to the hall which can also be used for unloading equipment for example.  It is possible to park for a short time, either in the road, or in the car park at the back of the church which does not belong to us, for this purpose.

The following rooms are available for hire:

The Sanctuary:

Hire Rate £25 for the first hour and £20 for each hour therafter.  

Occupancy - Lower floor 65; Upper floor 40 (20 on each side)

AV can be available.  There are microphones and a CD /DVD player so that film screening is possible.

The Sanctuary may not be booked for social events or any event where food is involved, except for tea/coffee and biscuits.

The Church Hall:

Hire rate £20 for the first hour, £15 for each hour thereafter.

Occupancy - 80 seated, 56 seated at tables, 115 standing.

The hall has stacking tables and chairs available for use.

The Kitchen:

can be hired with either the Sanctuary or the Hall at no extra cost.  It is not available for separate hire.

The Coppice Room:

is a smaller meeting room adjacent to the upper floor of the sanctuary.  It has been recently refurbished.

Hire rate £12 per hour. Occupancy 12.

Hire rates are for the actual time of your event.  We do not charge for setting up and clearing away - we allow half an hour for this.
