About Strathnairn Community Access and Transport Association (SCATA)

Formed in 2004 Strathnairn Community Access and Transport Association (SCATA) has a long and rich history of service within the Strathnairn community.  SCATA exists as a charity to provide transport services for individuals, local clubs and groups, sports groups and community initiatives, Farr School and other charities. The Strathnairn community is poorly served by commercial transport links and therefore SCATA provides a vital link for members of our community.

SCATA is free to use however we do gratefully accept donations which allows us to continue to provide & improve our services within the Strathnairn Community.  Our services can be booked via this website or contacting our Transport Coordinator.  Regular use includes shopping trips, trips to the community café, the Friendship group, trips to Otago & Yoga, youth sports trips, children’s birthday parties and various medical appointments.  All options for transport will be considered however business use is not permitted.

Our services are provided by two comfortable and spacious vehicles;  1x Peugeot Horizon Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) & 1x Fully Electric 8 Seater Ford Tourneo Custom Minibus.

Our WAV is 4-Seat plus 1 wheelchair (or small mobility scooter) vehicle with ramp, electric winch, parking sensors, and a reversing camera.  The latest and incredibly exciting edition to our fleet is a luxurious 8-Seater Fully Electric Ford Tourneo Custom Minibus. This new minibus has an endless list of special features however the extremely smooth not to mention quiet driving experience have been greatly received by both volunteer drivers and passengers alike!

So much work has gone into planning and sourcing of our vehicles that a massive thank you must be noted to both the SCATA Trustees, Volunteer Drivers & Members for their tireless dedication.
Special thanks of course go out to our continuous funders the Strathnairn Community Benefit Fund (SCBF) & The Highland Council (THC), without your support we could not offer this fantastic & valued service to our community.  Recent thanks also must go to The Energy Saving Trust (EST).  After a successful “Plugged in Communities Grant” application we have been incredibly fortunate to able to purchase our new Fully Electric Minibus!  Both vehicles are fantastic, treasured assets which will help us serve our community for many years to come.

We have a great group of volunteer drivers but it would be great to expand the pool of drivers so we can provide even more trips.  If you could spare some time and would like to join us a volunteer driver please contact us on 07570 824043 or email [email protected]

As a charity SCATA is managed by a group of trustees. If you have any comments or ideas on how we can improve and increase the SCATA service we would love to hear them.
