ABOUT THE READING ROOM
The Reading Room is run by local volunteers for the benefit of Kippen Community. This historical building was bequeathed to the village by the Mitchell Trust in the 1920`s
It has recently been refurbished, modernised and brought up to date with current legislation.
It is used by various groups running regular classes and activities. There is a defibrillator on the outside wall of the building. It is maintained by The Trossachs Search and Rescue Team. The Reading Room has a high speed internet connection. The Network and Password are displayed on the notice board inside the Reading Room.
The Reading Room is a no smoking or vaping area.
THE MAIN ROOM, which is on the ground floor, is ideal for family celebrations and children`s parties. It is also suitable for demonstrations, holding meetings, small groups and clubs. There is a projector, with sound and a drop down screen, perfect for showing films or family photos at a family gathering. There is an open fire making the room cosy and comfortable.
The room can be set up for themed dinners, meetings or film shows
THE GARDEN ROOM, which is on the ground floor, has 3 round café type tables, each seating approximately 6, and 2 sofas making the room very relaxed and comfortable. There is a new emergency door leading to the garden. There is also a piano. A space has been provided here to enable storing the folding tables.
TOILET FACILITIES Ladies, gents and disabled toilets are off the hallway.
KITCHEN is at the rear of the building with a new large cooker, sinks and fridge. There are also 2 stainless steel tables with wheels to allow hirers to move them as required. The kitchen is a reheat kitchen only.
UPSTAIRS To the left is a small committee room, seating 8-10. To the right there is the Kippen Heritage Room, which is locked. Kippen Heritage (website - kippenheritage.org.uk ) hold the key.
TOWER ROOMS There are two small rooms suitable for treatment sessions or work space.
