A Community Space at the Heart of Village Life for Over 100 Years

Welcome to Handcross Parish Hall - a cherished venue steeped in local history and bustling with community spirit. Built in 1915/16 on land generously leased by Mrs Lily Warren of Handcross Park and Mrs Fanny Bigg of The Hyde, the Hall has been a gathering place for generations. From village celebrations to regular activities, it remains a vital hub in the centre of Handcross.

Originally under the Diocese of Chichester, the Hall entered a new chapter in 2019 with a fresh lease between the Trustees of The Hyde and the Slaugham Parish Community Land Trust. The Trust now proudly manages the Parish Hall alongside The Handcross Club, Rifle Range and Bowling Green.

A Vibrant Community Hub 

Throughout the week, the Hall plays host to a range of regular classes and groups that promote wellbeing, learning, and fun. Our regular users include:

• Cubs, Beavers and Scouts
• Horsham Historics 
• Southdown Magicians 
• Top Hat Stage School
• Rosemary Club 

Whether you're looking to keep fit, relax, or get involved with youth programmes, there’s something for everyone.

Onsite Amenities

As well as the Hall itself, the surrounding site includes:

The Handcross Club – A licensed bar just next door, where you can enjoy a friendly drink, play pool or darts, and catch the latest on Sky TV.

The Bowling Green – Established in 1936, this green gem is open to new members looking to enjoy a classic sport in a sociable setting.

Together, these facilities create a welcoming environment for socialising, celebrating, and connecting with others in the community.

Hall Facilities

• Spacious Hall with Stage & Dressing Rooms – Ideal for performances, parties, and events
• Capacity: 140 for dances, 100 theatre style, 100 seated at tables
• Fully Equipped Kitchen – Includes gas hob/oven, crockery, cutlery, water boiler, and serving hatch
• Modern Heating & Lighting – Recently refurbished for comfort and energy efficiency
• Licensing: Performing Rights Society license in place
• Onsite Parking – Available for hall users and those visiting the Club, Bowling Green, or Rifle Range
